Troubles Brought by Mis-Sold Mortgages
28th February, 2011 - Posted by admin - No Comments
The Times released mis-sold mortgages stories and a number of people who became a victim of the said scam in November 2007. Approximately 370,000 people in the United Kingdom were mis-sold their properties too. The Financial Service Authority or FSA states that “We found some willing to offer mortgages they know to be unaffordable and to accept self cert business even when they had concerns that the financial information provided by the customer was implausible. These kinds of practices are completely inconsistent with treating their potential clients fairly”. The particular statement triggered them to create such guiding principles which is the Mortgage Conduct of Business (well known as MCOB) that the mortgage brokers and lenders must follow. However, even though these guiding principles still exist, a lot of irresponsible brokers and lenders are still continuing to spread the said scam until these days. The Financial Services Authorities even fined and penalized the mortgage brokers and lenders as well as the huge financial institutions that are involved in mis-sold mortgages scams.
If you feel that you were a victim of mis-sold mortgages, contact the proper authorities like the Financial Services Authorities and the Financial Ombudsman so that they could investigate your case and file possible claims against the loaning companies and the mortgage brokers who offered you the improper mortgage loans. Don’t wait for the instances that you are about to loose your homes just like the many victims had experienced. Act now so as to prevent further problems in the future.
